I’m a Partner and Executive Account Manager with PGK Engineering, a Kirby Services Co., a family and veteran owned automotive design and engineering business that for the last 25 years has focused mainly on the design, development, tooling, manufacturing and assembly of interior and exterior automotive components for the Auto Industry.
In the same breath, my family and I are avid outdoorsmen. We’re active in about every kind of hunting and fishing season that the state of Michigan provides us. We’ve also been extremely blessed to have hunted all of over the US, co-own a sportsmen's club and are active in many other outdoor community and church programs.
Our outdoor passions and product development background has provided us a variety of projects over the years in addition to automotive components, ranging from a full exterior redesign of the Prostar 190 Ski Boat for Mastercraft Boat Co. to a variety of gun/bow cases to tackle boxes and many products in between.
Further, it appears as though most representatives from the “Outdoor Products/Sporting Goods” industry’s today feel that success for their business depends on the cost advantages to sourcing to Asian and Pacific Rim supply bases in order to produce an affordable product that will remain competitive. Yet, based on our experience, I question whether or not those representatives have spent adequate time researching available resources here in the USA?
It's my goal to grow a more consistent "Outdoor Product" segment for PGK that is know called "Kirby Outdoor Products and Services" that will help diversify our business, utilizing our many automotive technologies/advantages/resources in producing quality products for the Outdoor O.E.M.'s, retailers and individuals.
As an American business owner and outdoorsmen, I’d love the opportunity to quote new business with the intent to develop new customer bases that not only grows this segment of our business, but enables us to keep our employee’s working while helping to restart our American community’s one at a time.
